Good Industrial Design is a title given to entries participating in the A' Design Award & Competition that comply with the "Good Industrial Design" criteria of A' Design Award & Competition, there is not a single category called "Good Industrial Design Award" however entries from several design award categories as listed in this page could be eligible for the title.

Good Industrial Design
Industrial Design is the use of applied art and applied science to improve the aesthetics, ergonomics, functionality, and usability of a product through incorporation of additional knowledge and technology from a variety of art and science disciplines such as engineering, physics, chemistry, ergonomics, economics, fine-arts and many others. Good industrial design process improves the product's marketability through increase in aesthetics, and it decreases the cost of production through optimization of manufacturing processes.

Good industrial design is utilitarian and benefits the society at the aggregate level; a good industrial design product delivers more with less. A good industrial design is cheaper to produce (as it uses less materials thanks to material-science or engineering or just because it was optimized for production in a way that there are no scraps or leftover materials). A good industrial design is sold more expensive not because it costs more to do it, but thanks to the improvement in aesthetics and beauty, the good industrial product is demanded more, and thus if the supply remains constant the price increase. A Good industrial design sells more than other products in the market, if the price is kept constant.

Good industrial design makes people happy (increases perceived utility), and results in less problems; for example it is safer to use, does not pollute, looks more beautiful, or it lasts long enough to form an emotional link between its’ consumers. Given all these insights, the role of industrial design for the society (both for companies, consumers and customers and the public which passively consumes through externalities) is of great importance, and the role of a designer is indeed “advancement of society”, rather “creation of commercial value”.

A’ Design Award for Good Industrial Design is therefore very important and very relevant for the society; The A’ Good Design Award not only signifies the level of design excellence of a product, but more importantly, it signifies a positive impact on society. A’ Design Award & Competition believes in taking part, supporting or discussing good design practices and to do so the special “Good Design Award” category was formed. The purpose of the award is to create a very relative incentive (fame, prestige, recognition and publicity) for the designers to come up with better products.

Good Industrial Design Award
The “Good Industrial Design Award” winner title is granted to industrial product designs that have been honored with the A’ Design Award accolades, and these durable industrial design products must further be double-checked, re-controlled and re-evaluated physically during the A’ Design Award Competitions’ Exhibition by the post-award jury. Good Industrial Design Award winners will be able to use the “Good Design Mark” in their visual communications.

“Good Industrial Design Award” title is made available to the winners of the industrial design categories below. The “Good Design Mark for Industrial Designs” could be downloaded after the award exhibition. Since the realized versions of products must be revaluated, concept designs are not eligible for the “Good Industrial Design Awards”, yet there are no limitations of the year of designs. Awarded industrial designs will be able to apply for Red Good Design Mark for high efficiency as well as use the Black Good Design Mark for design aesthetics.
