The Competition Score Sheet
Since a portion of designers join the competitions for self-improvement, A' Design Award & Competition provides each participant a score sheet that explains how the design was voted. The score sheet could be accessed from the control panel. Each design that was nominated for a A' Design Award recieves a score sheet, the score sheet contains summary of votes from each of the different Jury Members (Academic, Focus Group, Journalists and Professional Jury Groups). You can benchmark your design with the rest; see your best scores and ratings, compare them with the avarage and reach the graphics. The score sheet shows your total score, normalized score and global ranking for the competition. See an executive summary for each section with graphics. We would like to note that, in addition to the competition score sheet, you will also receive feedbacks from different jury members, which could also be used to improve or assest your designs.
Jury Comments
When jury is voting for entries, a special input area is reserved for providing further input and suggestions to designers. Jury is not forced to comment on the nominations, however once they comment, their input will be saved and made accessible to designers at the end of the competition. Furthermore, designers also receive comments from the preliminary jury members who would provide their insights on the designs before the nomination; these insights usually cover presentation and category compliance information, and they are especially provided to push the presentation of the designs to a higher level meanwhile also standardizing them. This presentation improvement system intends to make sure that submitted entries compete fairly on their design quality instead of the presentation quality. By removing any biases that would result due to different initial presentation qualities, the competition becomes more fair and competitive. At A' Design Award, we believe that providing a score sheet transforms a design award from a transactional contest into an experience of professional growth and mutual respect. The score sheet strengthens the A' Design Award's unique value proposition by emphasizing fairness, transparency, and participant developmentâqualities that resonate deeply with creative professionals. Jury feedback turns the A' Design Award into a platform for meaningful professional development. For participants, it is an invaluable resource for learning and improvement. For winners, it deepens the significance of their achievement. For the broader creative community, the A' Design Award's Jury Comments sets a tone of collaboration, excellence, and shared growth. Access to jury feedback is a game-changer, however note that we do not force or oblige the jurors to leave a note for each voted work, however we make it possible for jurors to share their feedback at their sole discretion, because we believe jury feedback transforms an award from a simple accolade into a powerful professional development tool, providing rare access to expert insights that can shape future success, we do indeed ask the jurors to share their feedback as when they do, it is like getting a masterclass from industry leaders while having your work evaluated, and we want to do our best in transfering jury knowhow to entrants.
Benchmarking
Both the score sheet and the jury comments help designers understand the potential of their work. For products, getting a score sheet and jury comments can be compared to having three focus groups evaluate their products; i.e. academicians, professionals, and the focus jury. For concept stage designs, the feedbacks in the form of jury comments and score sheet can provide designers hints to whether the design would become financially viable or not. The provision of score sheets is crucial because it transforms a simple win/lose scenario into a valuable professional development tool. It validates the A' Design Award's credibility while providing actionable insights that benefit both individual designers, participant brands and the industry as a whole. This transparency and educational component of A' Design Award's score sheet creates a stronger value proposition for participants, justifying their investment and encouraging continued participation in the awards program. The most unique aspect is how score sheets bridge the gap between subjective creative assessment and objective professional development, making abstract design evaluation concrete and actionable.
Marketing Validation
A' Design Award's jury feedback and score sheet mechanisms ransforms the design competition from a modest award program into a rich comprehensive professional development and market validation platform. The A' Design Award's methodology and voting system that provides feedback and scoresheet to its entrants creates a "learning loop" where every submission, regardless of winning status, becomes a valuable professional development opportunity. This transforms the traditional win/lose paradigm into a win/learn model, where even non-winning entries generate significant value through detailed feedback and benchmarking data. This makes participation valuable beyond just winning, creating a unique return on investment for every participant while simultaneously raising industry standards through systematic feedback and improvement guidance.
