RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I based my research on the studying of Russian costume and miners clothing. I had a chance to found the original uniform of American miners of the 1960s. From this uniform I took most of details such as pockets, collars, closures. The Russian costume gave me graceful volumes. The Russian fairy tale "The Hostess of the Copper Mountain" was my main inspiration so I did a lot of drawings and paintings to feel better this story. I really liked the idea that miners (maybe the most masculine job in the world) are headed by the fragile young beautiful woman. These paintings were printed on linen and used in my collection.
CHALLENGE: It was hard not to loose the main idea of the collection during the
year of working.
