Interview with Five Am at Thursday 7th of March 2013 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? FA: The client had a small budget but a lot of demands. Thats why whe needed to find the solution elsewhere, not in the mainstream ideas. As containers are very cheap nowadays we started to search solutions to combine them to an office. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? FA: The main goal, was letting the visitors experience the production hall while they enter the office. They need to feel, smell, see the awesome machinery, even if they only pass by for a minute. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? FA: The client can add containers as they want. Imagine the company grows in the next years and they need an extra postproduction unit, they only need to add 1 container. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? FA: It took about 6 months, starting from the first meeting to the actual start of the construction. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? FA: Our client contacted us. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? FA: A lot of meetings with our client. And in every design decision, searching for the simplest solution. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? FA: We tried to let the containers interact with their environment. We really didn't want to place the containers without any connection.
