A' International Design Award and Competition is pleased to announce that the project Timaeus by Vadim Cocis, Sergiu Matei, Peter Szabo and Cristi Paul has been announced as a laureate of the famed A' Design Award in Furniture Design Category picked as the winner by the international judging committee of the A' Design Awards & Competitions within a great number of submitted works.

Atelier Varadinum, the lead designer of the winning work Timaeus explains “Two words that would characterize this model are: elegant and robust. It is designed so that it can be assembled like a modular origami made out of metal. A graphic methaphor of the fire element, as described in Plato’s dialogues, stands at it’s base that is derived from a triangular pyramid. The discreet symbols of earth, air and water, complementary to fire, that are represented on the three support elements, are a reminder of the ancient wisdom of Greek philosophers.This geometric metaphor of fire is made to give shelter to the same element.” Learn more about this design at: https://competition.adesignaward.com/design.php?ID=57015
