Tetsuya Matsumoto, the lead designer of the winning project Pekin Kaku explains “Pekin-kaku restaurant new renovation offers a stylistic reinterpretation of what a Beijing style restaurant could be, rejecting the traditional abundantly ornamental design in favor of a more simplistic architectonics. The ceiling features a Red-Aurora created using 80 meters long string Curtains, whilst the walls are treated in traditional dark Shanghai bricks.
