Jacqueline Mariana Thenu, the creator of the award winning design Ploi says “Ploi is a design that is inspired by the geometrical elements in folding technique and the folding characteristic. Instead of paper as a medium, the design uses wire gauze. The design has unique characteristic where the wire gauze creates translucent effect, then combine with the folding technique creates a harmonious pleat following the shape of the design. The folding techniques create the dynamic shape of the design, where it gives different shape and light from each side.
