Klavdija Höfler and Matej Höfler, the designer of the award winning work Sofia says “The design was inspired by a 19th century Slovenian wooden cart for dolls. The challenge presented to designers was that of taking a toy which is centuries old, giving it purpose again, making it appealing, useful, interesting design-wise, different and above all simple and elegant. The authors designed a modern portable baby crib for dolls. They came up with an organic shape, illustrating the softness of the relationship between a child and a baby toy. It is basically made from wood and textile. It can be used for sleeping, transport and storing dolls.
