Payam Fahemi & Samira Kharazan, the lead designer of the winning architecture design work Sunshade-Deck Canopy explains “Flexibility is the primary function of Sunshade-Deck, simultaneously, some properties such as modular transformable structure, lightweight, manual stablishment, transformability,and sustainability have been considered. This structure is able to cover some spaces as a Deck, when it is not necessary to be worn by canopy in the wet seasons. Conversely, in the dry seasons the functionality becomes a canopy. The futuristic material, Metal Foam will be used because of its favorable strength to weight ratio.
