YI JIAN ARCHITECTS, the designer of the award winning architecture design Renewal of the 12th Mine Hospital says “The 12th Mine Hospital in this city was built in 1985, and as the city's coal mining industry has shrunk, this miner's hospital has remained unused. Faced with a growing elderly population in the city, the owner wanted to update the hospital into a medical and nursing care facility. The overall strategy was to let the 12th Mine Hospital to integrated into the natural park.
