A' International Design Award and Competition is pleased to announce that the work Yan'an Tourist Service Center by Zhuang Weimin, Tang Hongjun, Li Kuang, Sheng Wenge, Zhang Yi, Xu Tengfei, Chen Rongzi, Zhou Yi, Zhang Xuelei, Yang Yongqiang, Yuan Duo, Xu Hua, Guo Hongyan, Hou Qingyan, Liu Jie and Hu Wei has been announced as a laureate of the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in Urban Planning and Urban Design Category selected as the winner by the international judging committee of the A' Design Awards & Competitions within a great number of submitted works.

Concerning Yan'an Tourist Service Center

Hongjun Tang, the lead designer of the winning project Yan'an Tourist Service Center explains “The project is located in the core urban area of Yan'an. Due to the lack of holistic planning over the years, lots of cave dwellings were disorderly built on the hillside of Baota Mountain by local residents, which severely damaged the mountain's ecology. The architects proposed to approach the project based on the core concept of integrating site memories into design, including: integrating mountain and river and restoring natural ecology; creating a landscape architecture to blend into the natural surroundings; using regional materials and inheriting local cultural context.” Learn more about this design at: https://competition.adesignaward.com/design.php?ID=156432
