Hatsuo Morimoto, the creative mind behind the winning design Lap and Wrap explains “In this plan, the retaining wall and the building foundation are rationally combined, and the surplus part is returned to the courtyard as much as possible. The foundation is not vertical but slanted to give it a shape and give it an expression. The outer wall overlaps like a stack and continuously wraps around in a belt shape.
