It is tough to combine a contemporary design with a soft, homey feel but the Mehr Khaneh can give a few pointers on how to do so. Aptly named for it is creative use of natural light while also incorporating the Persian culture of harnessing the sun’s symbols within decor. Designers sat down to figure out a way to create a stylish industrial style home, mix in the Persian style. Immediately, the idea to use concrete finishes and repurposed materials of wood and metal were the obvious choices for the 101 square meters home.
Nima Keivani is an award-winning professional Iranian architect, who has found his own architectural firm,” Keivani Architects”, with his brother, Sina Keivani, Since 2009. After publishing their projects worldwide, their practice received international attention in architectural magazines, books, and websites. He was also the lecturer in different workshops and masterclasses in Europe and the Middle East and Asia universities and architecture associates.
