#62: Can I submit a product family as a single entry?
Yes, you can submit a product-family as a single entry (only one nomination) as long as all the products in this product-family belong to the same competition category that you nominate the designs for. Rationale: Product families are group of products that share the same core attributes. Products in a product family are similar to each other in a design sense, therefore they could be considered as a single-entry of design, but only if they all fit the nomination category. Large product families that are composed of products from several different competition categories, have to be divided into focused clusters because you cannot submit out-of-category products or designs to a particular category (due to the fact that each category has a specialized jury and it will be difficult for them to judge designs that are out of their scopes). To give an example you can submit a product family of "t-shirt, shirt, sweatshirt" to fashion design competition, or "table, chair, stool" for vehicle design competition or "sedan car, sports car, station wagon car" to vehicle design competitions etc; in each three examples, all of the products in the product families belong to one category. On the other hand, you cannot submit a product family of "t-shirt, chair and a car" as these three products or designs cannot not fit into a single competition category. Please also note that product bundles and product-platforms are different from product families as the products in such constellations do not necessarily share the same design principles, so they might not be accepted as a single entry.
