About Valeria Buffa : Since my graduation as an architect, I have developed and shown interest in design in different fields. The design of architectural spaces, furniture, objects, or pieces then became my object of study, and its practice, as well as the investigation of the possibilities of different materials. In 2006, based in Spain, I worked as an interior designer and had the opportunity to travel to Milan for the Furniture Fair. In 2008, upon returning to Argentina, I decided to start a course in Contemporary Jewelry. There, during that learning period of techniques, I realized that the task fascinated me. I began to consider it as a professional activity that would allow me to sustain myself through the ideation and development of jewelry pieces. Always seeking opportunities for growth through the promotion of my production, I have participated in various calls, being distinguished in 2014 with the first prize from Espacio Santafesino in the Accessories category. This not only constituted a recognition of what I had done through the eyes of others but also allowed me to renew my perspective on my own achievements and reaffirm my desire to make this activity an enterprise. I enjoy working with different materials. I believe that the value of a piece is not in the material's worth but in its design, its ability to evoke, to provoke, in its uniqueness. Technique, in the long run, cannot be considered as an end in itself but gains value and meaning when recognized as the most suitable means of culture. My pieces are directed towards sensitive individuals who are interested in imprinting a certain personality, transcending their own history, and making their soul vibrate. We all have a piece, whether from a family member or someone who gave us something at an important moment in our lives, and they have symbolic value, something that refers us to a past time, capturing that moment, a feeling. I like to transform, create, intervene in time to revalue that time, creating a new time, a new space, and it is through architectural language that I can do that. I am not interested in temporality. I like my pieces to be timeless.
