She is an assistant professor at Shenzhen International School of Design, Harbin Institute of Technology, and a PhD candidate in Visual Communication at the University of Macau. Her works have been widely included in several worldwide exhibits after graduating as a postgraduate at the University of Arts London, including CITYA - City as a medium, Art Vancouver, Art Fair Tokyo, and Art on Paper in New York City. Her unique style mixes hair symbolism, black-and-white drawing techniques, and meticulously drawn flawless lines.
STATEMENT OF ART:Guo's works use various techniques to convey her mastery of visual narrative. She places herself behind her works while prioritizing the plot and the proper aesthetic approach. These works completely depart from her previous works' genre, style, and direction, yet they reflect geometric, colorful, and logical patterns she acquired from her artworks. The pictures’ composition, surfaces, and features imply possible recognizable, familiar animal or human qualities, expressions, etc. Although the images were developed for a specific story, when viewed out of context, the narrative works enable the audience to define their version of the story to form their own set of visual beliefs, which their visual experiences and graphic associations will influence.
