View Larger Image and Additional Photos of Sapiens Design StudioAbout Sapiens Design Studio : Sapiens Design, based in Milan, was born from the meeting between Alessandro Mattia and Gloria Gianatti, designers graduated at the Polytechnic of Milan. The design philosophy of Sapiens Design is based on the belief that, despite being made in series, each product lives in a unique way. Relating to the human being through its form-function, every object follows us in everyday life, stimulating curiosity and imagination. This interaction between subject and object allows us to discover and invent new possibilities and opportunities of use. Every object posses, in this sense, a soul. And it is starting from this soul that Sapiens Design imagines a humanized and functional future: an evolved future.
Design has the task and duty to help people improve their lives.
Thinking about good design means combining different elements like form, technology, function and language.
The role of the designer is to integrate them into a single object. It comes to life across different ages: its production and its impact on the environment, its transport, its communication, its purchase, its use and aging, its death and disposal... or maybe its second life.
We treat each project with respect because it affects the lives of many people.
Many objects bind in a dissolvable way to the people who own them, they posses in a certain sense a soul, which makes them unique, equal and, at the same time, different from all the others.
