His buildings are unique. His designs don't blend into the background but instead confront the visitor in new and unusual ways. As a result, the user's awareness of their surroundings is heightened and they then have a more fulfilling experience in the space.
Design does not need to be beautiful to be good. A good design moves the person experiencing the design; physically, mentally, spiritually and/or emotionally.
