DESIGN NAME: Hidro Mamma Mia
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Homemade Pasta Machine
INSPIRATION: Inspired to serve the immigrant community living in Latin America, in special Italians and descendants, the Mama Mia brings a socio-cultural rescue through gastronomy and handcraft products, facilitating and enhancing the activity of homemade pasta dough prepare.
Its design is not limited to the stereotype of traditional products and brings differentiation through a reinterpretation of the past, connecting the object to the current lifestyle and finally delivering a pleasurable experience with gourmet high performance.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Extremely easy to use, Mamma Mia is light and compact, easy to storage and transport. It allows safe high productivity, providing a pleasant cooking experience to the family into every day's life and friends interaction.
In addition to the dough prepare and lamination, the Mamma Mia also cuts the pasta with different thickness, being able to prepare a variety of dishes: pasta, noodles, lasagna, bread, pastry, pizza, etc.
The engine is totally integrated in the transmission set, offering robustness and safe use, in addition to facilitate the cleaning and regular maintenance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: 1. prepares the dough according to favorite recipe or as indicated by the Company;
2. turns on the laminator and passes the dough through the rolling cylinders;
3. adjust the laminator to obtain a greater dough thickness and gradually decrease it by adjusting the handle until the desirable thickness;
4. dough can be cut like a tagliarini pasta by passing it through the cutter nozzle.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project has started in June 2019 and finished in December 2019. All project and development has been made in Brazil.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The manufacturing process uses the following technologies: metal stamping and plastic injection. The product receives in some parts that composes it, the epoxy painting process as well. The materials used are: carbon steel, 304 stainless steel rollers, ABS plastic, nylon, armor-plated bearings and LEDs.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Consumer-Centric Insights with Design based approach to solving problems. We collect all data through an immersive process, including consumer, designers and multidisciplinary teams (marketing, engineer, sustainability, anthropology).
Method: Research (map & understand), Conceptualize (alternative generation), Visualize (renderings), Realize (prototype) and Implement.
Tools: Desk Research, Field Research, Focus Groups, Consumer Insights, Trend Mappings, Prototyping.
Objectives: Bring innovation and differentiation to the market.
CHALLENGE: The challenge was to innovate through a Laminator Electric Cylinder, reflecting a new strategic position for market leadership resumption. The idea of export, meets technical international, health legislation and leads all demands. Efficient and modern was marked as directions, even as to take advantage of the current production process to ensure low investment in tools. Hydro had its first experience with design and Mamma Mia inaugurates a new strategy to be adopted to future portfolio.
