DESIGN NAME: A Whimsical Wander Showroom
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Showroom
INSPIRATION: The project is to provide three different spaces with distinctive concepts and functions. Colors represented identity and function of each room. It conveys visual information of each room to the owner and clients, and its spatial contrast creates unique spatial quality.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A Whimsical Wander, a high end women’s fashion brand launched in 2015, set out to create delicate pieces that could be worn and enjoyed every day with a classic, chic, and feminine feel. Old office building has been turned to the high-end fashion showroom by collaboration between the architect and the fashion designer in 2018. There are three chambers which are Pink chamber, White chamber and Grey chamber. Unique color of each chamber creates spatial contrast and provides rich spatial experience.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The showroom is small, but requires clear spatial separation for fashion designer and her clients. Spatial contrast by color provides clear idea for the each space. It helps separate each space. With this space separation, the showroom will feel larger than the actual footprint.
