| DESIGN NAME: Moon PRIMARY FUNCTION: Faucet INSPIRATION: This faucet's organic look and continuity of curves was inspired by the crescent phase of the moon. The Moon Bathroom Faucet integrates both body and handle in a unique shape. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A circular cross section rises from the bottom of the faucet to the exit spout creating the Moon Faucet's profile. A clean cut separates the body from the handle while keeping the volume compact. The Moon design, while characteristic, is versatile within a wide range of bathroom styles. Two height options make it adaptable to different sink types. The smooth and ergonomic feel of the handle, which is available in a variety of finish materials, provides a superb interaction with the user. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Moon's integrated handle activates the faucet, controls the flow and adjusts the temperature. The continuous surfaces help the user to clean the faucet in a comfortable and easy way. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started with the design in March 2016 in Barcelona and finished with the production in September 2017 in Shanghai. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Moon is available in a variety of finish materials and in two height options. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Standard Type: Width 45 mm x Depth 160 mm x Height 195 mm High Type: Width 45 mm x Depth 175 mm x Height 285 mm TAGS: Ergonomic, Functionality, Simplicity, Continuity, Elegant RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: We found that most of the single handle faucets in the market have both body and handle clearly separated visually and volumetrically. We designed the Moon focusing on the integration of these two parts in one, providing the Moon with a unique, compact and elegant shape.
