DESIGN NAME: Family
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Rings
INSPIRATION: My source of inspiration to create this set of rings was the concept of traditional Armenian family with bounded harmonic relationships. These rings are solely designed for my family and are absolutely exclusive and one of a kind as my hallmark is to never repeat my art works.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The story behind the creation of the rings relates to making present for my twin daughters birthday.
Having nearly the same appearance they have extremely different personalities. The rings display this difference through various color solutions and diverse figure motions while the invisible strong link between them is manifested by availability of chains. In order to depict the family in a complete way two more art works were added, the rings symbolizing mother and father of the family.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The presented art work is not only the example of the conceptual jewelry but also fully relates to the category of the minor plastic artworks or mini sculptures.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The idea was born and realized in August 2016 in Yerevan, Armenia.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: I made these rings by myself, they are totally handmade starting from drawing the models on the paper, handmade wax modeling to casting of 18 carat gold.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Rings are made of 18 carat white, yellow and pink gold. The two pink golden pieces are mat, the two white golden rings are rhodium plated and the two yellow ones have ideally polished surfaces. The sizes perfectly match to the fingers of the ring owners as family members.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: I researched carefully the typical motions of each character according to their preferences and hobbies. For example the ring symbolizing mother is portrayed in a yoga position because my wife is a yoga lover. Rings designed for daughters are demonstrating their love to ballet dances.
CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge for me to create this particular set was to depict the personality and state of mind of each family member through the rings taking into consideration their ergonomics and everyday applicability.
