DESIGN NAME: Workswell Wiris
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Thermal imaging system
INSPIRATION: The main inspiration was new technologies in aviation industry and environment, where the device would be used. WIRIS was primary designed for drones and unmanned air systems, but it can be mounted elsewhere... limit is only user's fantasy. Designing proces of WIRIS was quite problematic. I had to find companies that would be able to manufacture it's parts in the best quality for reasonable price. During the process of designing was made a few prototypes ... and they was really bad, but you know.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Wiris is a unique thermal imaging system designed for commercional unmanned aerial vehicles. It is the first device on the market in it's class. Weight is aproximately about 400 grams. The proposal includes an internal aluminum frame. The frame has several functions, such as heat exchanger, crash protector and mounting foundation component. External design of WIRIS respect all requierements manufacturing and assembly processes. Lens cover has several function such as sun-shield and angular mounting internal components.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Internal electronics have to be good heated. The cover has a holes, that provide good heat exchanging with the air. This fact affectet the design and construction.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2015 in Prague and finished in 2016 in Prague.
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Anodized aluminium internal rim.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Workswell Wiris dimensions are 139 x 84 x 69 mm and it's weight approximately 400g is the lightest product at the market.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Every step begun by one simple thing, that fall into deepest research of it. You always find the way, that can't be bring into real because the next-one part of the device doesn't work. But you are always able to find the golden way how to do it right. The way wasn't easy and take some time. Ofcourse, that there was a blind paths, but without them the WIRIS wouldn't exist. The result is awesome, the device can be used in a lot of different ways and has a huge impact for any kind of research and industry in global scale.
CHALLENGE: The hardest thing was to find the right way in every situation. Everything was at the first place, regardless of whether it is input requirements, development, design, manufacture, production costs. The process design was such as living organism that always changing it's form like a chameleon.
