| DESIGN NAME: MU'trans PRIMARY FUNCTION: Home Accessories INSPIRATION: from nature UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The objects created look like static but they become tender, elastic and mobile if touched; they start to vibrate and wave unexpectedly. They interact with the user stiring up contrasting feelings. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2006 in Palermo. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The material used is acetic silicone, commonly used in building industry. The production is completely free from any industry process. Every object is hand-made, so it’s unique and it comes with a progressive serial number certificate, attesting its authenticity. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: MU’factory, creativity laboratory in which is carried out a research using unusual materials, developing art-design projects. as result of the research with acetic silicone born MU’trans, MU’light and MU’shine projects. unique handcrafted pieces or limited edition. in trans and light projects the home accessory is seen as object-sculpture crossing the thin line between art and design. properties and limits of the material used contribute to create unusual objects which stir up contrasting feelings. the objects created look like static but they become tender, elastic and mobile if touched; they start to vibrate and wave unexpectedly. the production is completely free from any industry process. every object is hand-made, so it’s unique and it comes with a progressive serial number certificate, attesting its authenticity.
