DESIGN NAME: 1821 Vintage Bolgrad
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sparkling Wine
INSPIRATION: Our target was to carry out a comprehensive branding campaign for sparkling wines under the TM 1821 Vintage Bolgrad. We had the following tasks: bottle design, label set design, further development of the previously created brand identity.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 1821 is the year in which the city of Bolgrad, located in Odesa Region in southern Ukraine, was founded. The Bolgrad brand embodies the essence of the southern regions along the coast: a light atmosphere, excellent climate, and good winemaking. Bolgrad was the first Ukrainian producer to decide to bring sparkling wine in a lower and wider bottle to market, which is more typical of Western producers.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The bottle design was based on the traditional shape of those for European sparkling wines. The embossed logo personalizes the bottle and clearly identifies the brand. The overall design is stylistically consistent with the brand identity. Special art paper, a tactile varnish, foil stamping, and embossing were used to create the label. Together, all this creates the overall image of the product and makes it attractive to the consumer.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in summer 2022 in Kiev, Ukraine.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Agency development: bottle design, brand concept development, trade mark design, package design. The use of advanced post-printing processes was thoughtfully planned out for the label. Their combination and use won't go unappreciated by the consumer. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We did market research on the competitive shelf. As a result of the research it became clear to us that sparkling wines are not only about breed and brevity. But also mood, atmosphere, a special status - severity, restraint, a high level of presentability. That is what we tried to reflect in the design.
CHALLENGE: The main idea of the design is the high status of the product and brand Bolgrad. In the design we wanted to reflect the severity, respectability, so that the consumer feels belonging to the "high society". We also conveyed a sense of celebration, bright lights and festivity.
