| DESIGN NAME: Bamboo Mountains River and Moon PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wedding Scene INSPIRATION: Inspiration comes from China's top ten famous paintings "A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains". This painting is the last pen of Wang Ximeng, a talented young man. It describes the vast and undulating mountains and rivers in the south of China. The Bamboo Mountain River Moon Picture is inspired by ancient Chinese style and traditional Chinese painting. Starting from "bamboo", it depicts a poem: inkstone green bamboo, moon shines on mountains and rivers. Use this small poem to draw out the wedding. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a wedding scene designed with the name of the newlyweds' daughter "Mozhu"（ OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Guests who come to the scene will be invited to use Chinese-style paintbrushes to leave their wishes on the bamboo slips made of bamboo, and will come to the welcome area to pray near the bamboo trees. Bamboo also represents longevity and peace. There are also dessert snacks made of bamboo tubes on the dessert table. After wedding, guests can take away their favorite bamboo products at the scene where bamboo and bamboo chips are widely used. Every guest has a deeper interaction and connection with bamboo. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2022 and carried out conceptual design and schematic design. After nearly a month of preparation and construction, it will be built on September 11, 2022, and officially landed on September 12. Located in Chaoyang District, Beijing, China. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Oriental aesthetic bamboo art and weaving installation. In Chinese culture, the whole body of bamboo is a treasure.Poles can be used to make bamboo rafts, and bamboo slices can be used for bamboo weaving. Bamboo slices have certain flexibility, and after hand-woven into weaving, they can also be made into beautiful curved shapes according to the shape requirements. Bamboo tubes can also be arranged in different heights to form a tree (as an auspicious tree). This project makes full use of bamboo, from humanistic significance to oriental aesthetics, and finally pays tribute to the craftsmen. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The scene is an outdoor lawn with an area of about 800 square meters. As a wedding ceremony area, the structure has a bamboo mountain background, a turquoise full moon stage, a complete space installation formed by bamboo pieces installed on the river, and a small bamboo bridge, with a height of about 3.5 meters. The longest device is about 16 meters. All have deeper thinking. CHALLENGE: 1. The challenge of design style. The artistic conception of Chinese freehand landscape painting is beautiful and profound, with a kind of quiet power. Landscape painting mostly uses She Se, and the method of color block processing with turquoise smudges tries to restore coloring to landscape painting.2. Creatively use a large amount of bamboo to turn it into various devices required Difficulties: how to color the bamboo rafts, how to shape the hand-made bamboo weaving according to the ups and downs of the river, etc., and the difficulty of using a large amount of bamboo for manpower and manual construction.
