PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lazy Eye Treatment Device
INSPIRATION: The inspiration for the curesight product started from a personal experience when one of my kids needed to treat the lazy eye condition with the eye patch solution, I learned from this experience about the discomfort of wearing the eye patch for a few hours every day and especially how embarrassing it is from the social point of view.
The inspiration for the styling design came from the tech gadgets that kids love to use and play with, to provide a slick and modern design to a medical device product type, the front aluminum bezel, and the back swallowtail gives the product a clean gadget look.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The curesight is a powerful solution with great potential to totally change the treatment of lazy eye condition, with the important advantage of treating the lazy eye from the comfort of home and by watching any tv or streaming video content.
This healthcare solution for lazy eye condition integrates high-end technologies for eye-tracking and ai software tools for smart analyzing of the lazy eye condition and providing personal custom treatment. The gold standard care for lazy eye is placing a patch over the strong eye, an old-fashioned solution that suffers from very low compliance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The patient, most likely kids will have the fun be treated by the Curesight while watching any video content they love to watch without any degradation in quality and from the comfort of home.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2019 in Tel Aviv, and finished in late 2021, the project was exhibited at the CES in January 2020 in Las Vegas

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design activity started with a brainstorming meeting to learn more about the problem from the clinical and user needs aspects, and to outline the main big limitations of today's treatment methods.
We also discussed the ergonomics and usability needs to be able to provide the best treatment.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Following an intense effort over the last 18 months, the company officially announced that the company successfully met the primary endpoint of the CureSight randomized, controlled pivotal trial of amblyopia treatment against the gold standard patching.
This is the first-ever pivotal study in which a digital device was shown to be non-inferior to eye patching for amblyopia treatment in children.
The study also exhibited 93% adherence to the curesight treatment, as well as a 93% likelihood of the parents choosing curesight over patching.
CHALLENGE: The creative challenge was to dress the unique technology components with style and to provide a good user experience to the users, the specific usability needs to enable good treatment for various populations and make it an appealing and empowering treatment device, and lead to important social impact
