Interview with Yuri Miranda de Araujo Cabral de Matos at Sunday 26th of May 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? YM: I was inspired by the heraldry and coats of arms tradition. I needed the symbol to be strong and respectful, so they could be perceived as a reliable law office. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? YM: I wanted to have a strong and simple graphic that could show nobility, security, solidity. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? YM: 1 month. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? YM: At the briefing meeting I've had a sudden vision of a concept based upon a coat of arms and I kept that idea and perfected it. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? YM: Paper, Pencil and Adobe Illustrator. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? YM: A lot of research on heraldry, coats of arms design and about the last name of each partner so that we could translate the information into a relevant graphic concept. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? YM: This project is very important to me, because of him I realized that my real vocation is to create brands, and the fact that he was awarded only makes me happier and more sure of what I chose to pursue for my career.
