Interview with Hung Yuan Chang at Thursday 23rd of May 2019 FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? HC: 3 months. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? HC: Anybody. I want the armchair could be enjoyed by anybody whether your space is tiny or large, this armchair works well in every circustomences. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? HC: For this particular design, I came from user experience instead of putting design at the first place. I’ve also kept in mind that it should go well with any different style of interior design. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? HC: I did not have a particular name that I want to use at the very beginning when I started doing it, but because it evolves during the crafting process and I love the curve that the structure carries so I name it after this. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? HC: I won’t say I used any analytical research which sounded too big for me but I did research tons of different interior design cases and how living space could be layout since my goal is to make an armchair that works for every scenario. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? HC: I know I kept on saying I want the armchair to be able to blend into different type of spaces and actually that’s the most difficult part since I have to be careful not to let the design be away or conflict with certain type of interior design.
