Interview with Moataz Mohamed at Thursday 7th of March 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MM: the mustache that expresses original type of burger restaurant. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? MM: The logo design expresses the quality and authenticity of the taste and craftsmanship in performance FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? MM: Creativity is always my passion and that what push me to nominate to win this award, winning this award meaning a lot for me and my Career, and will push me to take the next step in my career. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MM: 2 days thinking and made my own research, Working on the typo and execution. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MM: I followed the inspiration of doing something creative related to the culture and design, So every design for me it has to linked to some inspiration to make it something insightful. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? MM: It depend on the project, some produced to another companies, and the some projects are planed to sell. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? MM: Because this is the core of my job, beside that I love branding and packaging. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? MM: I keep my self up to date with all the new designs awards and work all over the world, learning from each style and visuals and all kind of designs for sure effect on my designs in a way or another. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? MM: A and B class, who love to eat burger with this quality and they are always looking for the Image of the restaurant too that reflects, and this is was my mission. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? MM: The simplicity and the typo. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? MM: The name was already given from the client, It means fairness, humbleness and positive leadership. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MM: adobe illustrator FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? MM: The Mustache theme. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? MM: I did it all by myself, concept, idea, execution. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? MM: saving time for sure, programs are very faster with tools and effects. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? MM: I did my own researches and I found that In the Arabian culture, the word “Sheikh” is slang for the highest ranking one can attain for their gratitude, fairness, humbleness and positive leadership. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? MM: To make the theme related to the typo in some how to feel that there are consistence to each other. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? MM: To be nominated by such a great and big event like A'design Award was the right decision to submit. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? MM: How to search to do smart designs with solid ideas and concept. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? MM: No Thanks.
