Editor Frank Scott (FS) from DesignPRWire has interviewed designer Elena Zaznobina (EZ) for A' Design Awards and Competition. You can access the full profile of Elena Zaznobina by clicking here. Access more information about the award winning design Pont here.

Interview with Elena Zaznobina at Friday 8th of March 2019

FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
EZ: The inspiration for the creation of this cabinet was the work of Gio Ponti, light and concise.

FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
EZ: The main task was to preserve all conceived functions without compromising the appearance.

FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design?
EZ: It would be great to develop a complete collection of items for this model.

FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
EZ: Three months.

FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
EZ: A small area of the room was the reason for the creation of this cabinet.

FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?
EZ: I will be glad to find a manufacturer who is interested in this model.

FS: What made you design this particular type of work?
EZ: The scope of the project.

FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
EZ: The name Pont is a play on words in the name of Gio Ponti and the Russian word понт. One of the values can be translated as an attempt to make an impression.

FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project?
EZ: Paper, pencil and handicraft.

FS: Thank you for providing us with this opportunity to interview you.
