Interview with Oron Milshtein at Tuesday 30th of April 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? OM: To create separated space in one apartment, private and public FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? OM: Create a public space that will be my living room and my office and create a collaboration that feel home FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? OM: Celebrating this everyday, it’s my home FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? OM: 3 years, it’s my private house and I always change the plans till I find the best one for me FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? OM: Way of living that will fit for me FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? OM: No FS: Who is the target customer for his design? OM: me FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? OM: It’s my private home and my office FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? OM: The name of the design it’s a name that I loved years ago FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? OM: 3D software FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? OM: Only my carpenter FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? OM: Movement (furniture moving) secret doors ( to the private area) FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? OM: no FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? OM: Changing a standard apartment to zones public and private FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? OM: I want to enter the competition many time but this time i felt it was the right project FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? OM: The project was a lengthy process because of the construction of the building, which led me to undergo a process of self learning and distill what is right for me
