Interview with Dragana Stojanović at Wednesday 29th of May 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? DS: Since I like working on a brand visual identity from its development I was using main ideas from the brief to get an inspiration. I decided to be simple as possible and to use spherical shapes, which are the most common shapes in nature from where O2 molecule comes from. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? DS: Initial idea was to create something organic, live and light, to make a logo with gentle form. I knew it should be like something you can imagine holding in your hand or finding in the world surrounding you. At the end, the goal was to get the perfect basis for future TV graphic package development. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? DS: At this moment we are using O2.TV logo as an inspiration for TV break bumpers and Identity videos. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? DS: From the first brainstorming to its completion it was couple of months period. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? DS: This was regular task from the head of the company given to our creative department but it was definitely one of those projects where you can use all of your creative freedom. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? DS: I like to be inspired by other artists and designs. There hasn't been any particular that I had in mind while I was working on this one but there is definitely a lot of influence incorporated in it since we are all learning and getting ideas, exchanging work and experience constantly. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? DS: Among Serbian national TV channels this logo stands out with its modern look and visual concept. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? DS: Luckily I didn't have to think about the name. Other colleagues from our creative team created it. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? DS: This is 100% digital. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? DS: This was really fresh and new for TV stations in our country. O2.TV became more likable for younger audience, which was the goal. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? DS: I like working with my team. It was good having creative minds walking around and commenting. At least they made this process more amusing. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? DS: I was focused on the target group that O2.TV was dealing with and program content that is going to be on air. You must know what are the people you are making the design for. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? DS: The biggest challenge is always the deadline when you are working in big corporation but besides that it was just the matter of how far should I go from the basic idea or just do it in the way I sensed it from the beginning. I did the second and it was the right thing. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? DS: Well, everyone likes to be awarded and if you want to get the chance to be you must submit. It is good to be among other great designs and colleagues. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? DS: Experience is always improvement. Especially good experience and this was definitely one of my favorite works. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? DS: I'm fine. Thank you :)
