Interview with Jessika Gouveia at Tuesday 2nd of July 2019 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? JG: Main principle is education in a user friendly environment, the main idea was to find a comfortable place where frustrated students could find help and feel safe while working on their problems FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? JG: My main focus has been the user experience and journey, to find the perfect balance and create an intuitive design, and provide the tools and resources to the tutors, so that the in session experience is satisfactory FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? JG: Expand to other countries FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? JG: 2 years FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? JG: I decided to pursue an inspiration, I could't find other apps as reference, so there was a lot user interviews, a/b testing and constant iteration until we got the results that we were expecting FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? JG: I am not sure about that right now, I think time will tell FS: What made you design this particular type of work? JG: I became interested with the concept, and had experience with the struggle of homework and tutor help FS: Who is the target customer for his design? JG: High School and College students FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? JG: We wanted to explain the association between a camera and homework, the concept of taking a picture to solve your problem, hence Photo Study FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? JG: I mainly use sketch for UI, Zeplin to share with engineers and InVision to create prototypes FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? JG: I collaborated with my Design Team, iOS engineers and PMs FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? JG: Connecting people from different parts of the world to work together on a problem is creating a new way for education technology and fast response tutoring like we haven't seen before FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? JG: Usability, conversion, retention, user satisfaction. We track a lot of metrics to make sure that user is getting the best help possible FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? JG: Creating and environment where the user can interact with a bot without taking the importance of a real live tutor
