Interview with Fabricio Ronca at Friday 6th of April 2018 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? FR: An innovative piece that mixes the use of the table with light, giving the user interaction and practicality FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? FR: Practicality and interaction. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? FR: I'm going to find partners to work with recycled wood, then we will produce on a large scale, that it is accessible to people to buy the piece. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? FR: 02 Months FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? FR: My ispiration beyond the plural use of the piece, was to create something light and beautiful, that can be used in any environment. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? FR: We are already running the prototype, but nothing prevents it from being produced by other partners. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? FR: Passion for new uses, forms and interactions. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? FR: All the Italian, brazilians and Scandinavian designers. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? FR: Commom people, Young people who like the trend, live in places that are not very spacious. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? FR: Dual use and interaction. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? FR: Spin light table, spin because of the turned wood, light lamp, because its a lamp and a table at same time. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? FR: Sketchup , hand draw and Keyshot for render. Autocad. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? FR: Simplicity. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? FR: Master carpenters and Eletricians. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? FR: Use of FSC woods and lamps with low energy expenditure. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? FR: Thinking about location and electrical infrastructure. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? FR: Because I think it's a unique, different and functional piece. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? FR: Organization and Improvment of Projectual Thinking. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? FR: Thank you !
