Interview with Filippo Caprioglio at Friday 5th of July 2024 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? FC: The main principle is that the spaces are human based and the function remains the primary aspect. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? FC: It was a thing line between conservative approach and contemporary design FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? FC: this is an example we will always look on FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? FC: It took two years of design FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? FC: Because I felt that among a given building with peculiar aspect we had the opportunity to use a new language, sign of our times but by being respectful of the pre existence. It was a decision we pursuit together with the client FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? FC: This is a unique concept as all the project we are working on. it s a piece of architecture not replicable. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? FC: The given site conditions FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? FC: Not really FS: Who is the target customer for his design? FC: A family that want to live the outdoor with all the confort of the contemporary technology FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? FC: As I said before this is a unique piece FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? FC: I always give the initials of the name of my clients plus the number of children FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? FC: From the hand to the digital tools FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? FC: I will say the combination function and esthetic FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? FC: As all the architectural project is a combination of various professionals that as a Maestro in music you ha to coordinate as an orchestra FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? FC: It ha s a very important role FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? FC: Not in this case FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? FC: The constant monitoring by the Soprintentenza (heritage commission) in maintaining the local landscape condition FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? FC: O thought was worthy participate and getting worldwide confrontation FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? FC: I learn several thing and manage surely different and difficult tasks FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? FC: I believe all as been said
