Interview with Kristina Sviderskaite at Wednesday 26th of April 2017 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? KS: Transformation is the main point of concept in this collection. It is all about different sides of personality. Every human being has it and these different sides appear in variant situations of life. All outfits of this collection are transformable and could be wearable in different ways. Blue - what is in deep human side. Black– person's dark side. Purple - the brightest things of human. Shine - society's expressions and masks. My inspiration comes from society, comunications, people's, differences, aspect of modern life such as fast changes. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? KS: My main focus was transformation. I want to achieve that all transformation moments in clothes had their secret massage about fast cahnged situations in our life. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? KS: I think this Award winning collection will find it's clients and all clothes could live their real life FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? KS: To design this concept took about 2 months FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? KS: I desided pursuit an inspiration and this is the main reason of this concept. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? KS: My design is not produced or used by other compamy, and I intent to produce my work myself FS: What made you design this particular type of work? KS: I think, all chosen materials, fabrics, colors and factures, details, constructions made my design thos type of work FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? KS: I think no, there are no impact from others work FS: Who is the target customer for his design? KS: The customer sophisticated, modern, stylish woman, who aprecciate quality, interesting good design, uniqueness. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? KS: I think this design has its unique idea, fabrics, also colors and factures and all these aspects are discovering concept. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? KS: The name of collection - BlueBlackPurpleShine - is code. This is main colors or factures used in collection. Also every color have its mean. Blue - what is in deep human side. Black– person's dark side. Purple - the brightest things of human. Shine - society's expressions and masks. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? KS: I used layout, drawing, sketching. FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? KS: I think the most unique aspect of my design is transformation - all clothes are wearable in different ways. FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? KS: I did main creative process of designing by myself. But I colloborate whith professional photographer Nerijus Kuzmickas, which helped me to vizualize photoshoot of collection. Also Make up artist Kristina Raulinaityte and models Urte Jasenkaite and Tekle Jasenkaite helped me with photoshoot. FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? KS: The main technology - sewing - just helped to realize the idea. Also The photoshoot helped to visualize all idea and present my design. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? KS: No, I don't have any research in any way . FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? KS: I think the main challenge was to express the idea of colllection and how to visualize it in photpshoot. FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? KS: I published photos of this collection in platform Not Just A Label and was noticed by agent from A'Award team, I got a special offfer and conditions to participate in this competition. FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? KS: I learned how to conect all aspects of concept, how to choose the best option, how to vizualise all details of concept, how to present it to public. FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? KS: No
