Interview with Mitra Gholami at Friday 23rd of December 2016 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? MG: The main principal and the idea of designing Temple nightclub was the functionality and the beauty. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? MG: the main focus was to create a space different from the reality of the world so when customers enter they feel they are separated from the real world. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MG: the interior design part of the project took 3 months. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MG: the owner wanted a different and futuristic concept for the club. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? MG: I always enjoy the mix of music and light and designing this nightclub helped me discover more aspects of both. FS: Who is the target customer for his design? MG: young professionals. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? MG: everything in the nightclub is custom made and no other nightclub has this design. FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MG: 3d max, revit FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? MG: contractor FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? MG: the whole design of this project is based on technology, the ceiling light, columns, furniture, wall, Dj booth, bathroom mirrors FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? MG: watching futuristic movies and pictures from internet and magazines. FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? MG: the long narrow shape of the building and the numerous amount of columns. it was very hard to design that space in a way so everyone from the entrance to the dj booth could have the same experience.
