Interview with Woodalls Design at Thursday 3rd of November 2016 FS: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design? JW: To create a new space that encourages/forces people to interact in a new way. FS: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve? JW: The new office design has assisted the client transform the business, in a way no one thought possible. The emphasis on common spaces and difference has been an exceptional advantage FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? JW: To develop it as the client wished to develop in conjunction with the business change FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? JW: 8 weeks FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? JW: The design was commissioned in a unique way and Woodalls was appointed in a way that allowed full transparancy and trust between client and consultancy. FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? JW: No the design is not being used by anyone else FS: What made you design this particular type of work? JW: To assist business change FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? JW: No it is fully unique FS: Who is the target customer for his design? JW: Client - Dods FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? JW: The way people move around the new office FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? JW: CAD FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? JW: Strangely one of the proudest parts is the grand walkway FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? JW: Yes FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? JW: Time constraints FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? JW: We believe it is world class
