FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? kY: For my future plan, I will work as a freelancer for another jewelry company who had a retail store, join professional jewelry house , enter design contests and talk to a lot of people. FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? kY: Around one week start from concept to sketch. FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? kY: Use minimal pattern and form to recreate the jellyfish into a pair of earrings. FS: What made you design this particular type of work? kY: My design Philosophy is minimal, clean and elegant. Minimalistic in details; geometric forms; contrasting elements, like color texture and finishing; asymmetry because I love something a little unexpected. And above all elegance is the primary design principals. FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? kY: I admire Coco Channel who broke the boundaries of women’s fashion at the time. Claude FS: Who is the target customer for his design? kY: The minimal but elegant design could be worn by ladies of all ages to match with their evening gowns. FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? kY: The jelly fish swim in the ocean, look like dancing in the party with sparkling jewelry FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? kY: The most difficult part was created the jellyfish into jewelry design. Since the structure of jellyfish was free form. FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? kY: Many visual details and experiences influence my work. I am inspired because I am attracted to certain things – not necessarily that I want to emulate them
