MB: By the principle idea we had to find a material that grows in your area, and would be able to fulfil the requirements. FS: What are your future plans for this award winning design? MB: to create an ecology-sensitive bike flotilla FS: How long did it take you to design this particular concept? MB: almost 2 years FS: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration? MB: first it was pure inspiration than you want to bear this challange FS: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself? MB: that depends, didn´t made a decision yet FS: What made you design this particular type of work? MB: driven by emotions FS: Where there any other designs and/or designers that helped the influence the design of your work? MB: no FS: Who is the target customer for his design? MB: Potential owners are design affine city slickers with an environmental awareness – an ever expanding target group. FS: What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts? MB: there is no other wooden ebike at this time at the market FS: How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean? MB: wooden ebike is what it means FS: Which design tools did you use when you were working on this project? MB: pencils, typical wood tools FS: What is the most unique aspect of your design? MB: the shape FS: Who did you collaborate with for this design? Did you work with people with technical / specialized skills? MB: with the cooperation with the Faculty of Wood Science and Technology of the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) FS: What is the role of technology in this particular design? MB: Science meets Sustainability FS: Is your design influenced by data or analytical research in any way? What kind of research did you conduct for making this design? MB: to research, we had to create a torsion machine to learn which power will destroy the wood FS: What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept? MB: to get the best performance between thickness wood laminates, flexibility and weight FS: How did you decide to submit your design to an international design competition? MB: we were ask to FS: What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work? MB: I was sure that it will work, but I would`t expect that it so long and it was difficult to control the impatience to ride the bike FS: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions? MB: yes there should be more ideas around to move 80kg(a person) from A to B without the necessary to move also 2000kg(a car)
