Ethereal Hair Salon

Ethereal Hair Salon is an innovative interior design project that reimagines the traditional concept of a hair salon through sophisticated spatial design and masterful material manipulation. Completed in December 2019 in Taipei by designers Jacksam Yang and Steven Kuo, this 133-square-meter space represents a revolutionary approach to commercial beauty environments. The design philosophy centers on deconstructing conventional woodcraft applications while creating an artistic installation that seamlessly blends functionality with aesthetic appeal. The space is distinguished by its unique interpretation of natural elements, featuring an intricate interplay of wood textures and materials that create a rhythmic visual experience. The designers have successfully transformed the typical salon environment into an urban oasis where the solidity of wood harmonizes with surrounding materials, presenting itself as an artistic installation upon first glance while revealing its meticulous craftsmanship upon closer inspection. The interior design, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, masterfully incorporates elements of light, shadow, and natural textures to create a multisensory experience.
