This is our Second Iteration of the Authoritative Content Publication service. In our first iteration, we asked laureates to provide long term articles that we can directly publish at our platforms. We initially taken this approach: We told our laureates that they could write an article about a subject that they have the expertise of, and include links to in this article. However, after 15 years, we have changed this and made a better version, in our new version, we do not push laureates to write long-form content, instead we ask them to provide many short-form content which we later bring together, and which we individually promote to match different search intents.

When you share your insights at A' Design Award, be it in short form or long form, you push forward your Authoritative, and as the expert voice, people would refer to you and your article in the future. Writing an article about your niche defines your Authoritative on the knowledge domain further and thus helps you to get more business leads, offers and opportunities. We ask laureates to provide content that is educative and rich in wisdom, therefore we asked that your articles should give insights, and provide knowledge to readers, however we also value the subjective perspectives you may have when it comes to aesthetics and design preferences, therefore we welcome you to share your insights and articles on a wide variety of topics:

  1. Designing a particular type of product, service or project: 
    An example title would be: "Key elements to consider when designing arm chairs for offices". As you see, the article should be niche; it is best to write articles that are really specialized as there already exists thousands of generic articles about how to design furniture; but your article is much more relevant and thus will be shared and valued more by the online audiences. We can promote and publish this kind of content via our design encyclopedia and publications.

  2. A New Product or Service: 
    You can focus on key features and benefits, explain how it is produced or manufactured, how it was designed, imagined and improved. In addition, you can integrate a Case Study to show how your product or service being used innovatively, effectively and efficiently. We can promote these kind of content via video and video on demand as well as documentary series, and of course you can also make a new nomination to A' Design Award.

  3. Design tools, news and opportunities: 
    You can discuss about some of the design tools you use, some new ways of designing and other relevant information that have news value. It is important that this is not a press release, an editorial article where you tell in detail how some tools could be used to increase efficiency etc. We can share these as editorial articles and content on our publications.

  4. Your Office or Design Department and Its' Principles: 
    You can feature your office and how you do design, arts or architecture, or product design with other designers, artists and architects, but especially upcoming designers. Write about for instance "Design Principles" you follow, or "How X-Design Designs". "Architectural Principles" etc. For this, we have a platform in our website that allows you to also share content with media, using our media newsroom.

  5. Best of Examples: 
    You can write an article about the "Good Examples of X-Design" where you could feature different examples of good design regarding a particular subject. Again, it is best to choose a niche in your specialization. Please also make sure to get the rights to use the images in your articles from the copyright owners. We can share this in the form of articles.

  6. Details about how you accomplished a particular project:
    Did you design an award-winning product, architectural piece, artwork or concept? Share with the world about how you did it so good, make sure the article is educative. You can talk about the awards you win, about the process of design, about the team members and their roles etc. We have many platforms to achieve this, and the grand interviews platform and visionary review publication covers this very good.

  7. A Fair or Event that you attended to:
    Not pictures of your booth, but general coverage of the event, including your booth or your participation if any. Tell why the event is important, who joined, what was the benefits etc. It is best to include some personal suggestions and insights regarding the event in an editorial manner.   10. Anything else that is contemporary, useful and educative: 
    You can write about any subject that might be considered useful, comprehensive and educative about design. You could write an article about a contemporary subject that relates to your business or profession, the ultimate purpose is to promote your brand identity through the articles which would help to channel visitors when information is searched based on the topic you write for. We can promote them in social media and/or our publications depending on context.

To be honest, this approach, was good yet we wanted to make it great, therefore to entice our laureates to write and provide in-depth content and the articles themselves, we decided to take a very different approach; After years of experience, we know and learn that designers resist writing long form educative content, because some don't have time, and in many cases it is a natural resistance because while our laureates are expert in their creative domains, most award winner designers are indeed not experts in literature. That’s why we later pivoted to a new proactive approach, where we created multiple new tools to help laureates share their insights following our best-practice framework that is:

  • Focus on your unique design processes, innovations, and professional insights to create compelling content.
  • Use case studies and real-world examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of your designs.
  • Share your design philosophy and manifesto to connect with your audience on a deeper level.
  • Provide industry commentary and solutions to position yourself as a thought leader.
  • Help promote your published articles through professional network and social media to increase reach.

To achieve this, we created multiple distinct platforms each specialized in a single point, these platforms include but not limited to newsroom, newswire, press packs, press release preparation and distribution services, design encyclopedia coverage, interviews, long-form content publications where we ourselves prepare the content, social media amplification tools, and editorial articles at our publication; we took the passive approach and replaced with an active one; now we directly contact laureates and ask them to fill specific forms, then our editors, who are expert in literature, turn these ideas and bits into real, proper articles; the editors don’t know how to create good design, but they know how to write good articles. The designers mostly don’t know how to make good articles but they know how to make good design.

Another big hurdle we had to outcome was that the designers, are not so much inclined to write and share, so we had to create some intelligent ways to push them write and share, not long-form content but a series of short form content, given these ideas to achieve Authoritative content publication, we use a series of question-and-answer systems to collect insights from designers then pass these to editors to create articles. We created calendars, mechanisms to collect bits, and combine into bigger pieces.
