Our Estimate is This Complementary Service Could Potentially be Worth more than 64.000 Euro
How much do you think it is worth to have true global recognition, the translation of your product, project or design to 108 languages and to get published in all these languages, as an award-winning good design? We think it is worth much more than 64.000 Euro, as that would simply be the minimum cost of providing the translation and article placement service by a PR Agency.

Are you good with mathematics? Let's try to make a simple calculation on this, because well, we are providing a really important, one-of-a-kind, universal publicity service to our laureates, this is addition to our other PR services, such as press release prepration and distribution that are part of A' Design Prize, and we would honestly like you to know how much it would cost to you, if you were to acquire what we are providing yourself; if this was a service provided by a PR Agency, how much would they quote you?

Estimate calculation is simple. For each language; if it were to cost, (a) 25 Euro for translating your design news text, and finding the translator to translate your text, and your own personal time spent on this, and for each language it would cost (b) a modest, low-ball estimate of 400 Euro for editorial placement of your work, and that is as a simple news article, but you would rather get translated and promoted as an award-winning good design, recognized by a very big, grand jury panel, of World's leading designers, artists and architects, and communicated as such, and then if we also add a (c) a modest, 40% markup for providing these services, the cost estimate for a PR Agency providing you this service would be 108 x 425 (a+b) x 1.4 (c) = 64,260 Euro, and that's a conservative guess. It would easily cost about 100k or more if you get a price quote on this from a PR Agency.

If you were a PR Agency, just quote 100k to your clients, and then submit their work to A' Design Award, you do not need to do anything as we do all the translations and article placements ourselves.

You know what? It would be priceless, to see the face of your competitors, when you actually have all these services provided to you, at no additional cost to you. Your competitors would not know that you get these services, free of charge, as an esteemed laureated of A' Design Award, since translation and IDNN diffusion and syndication service is provided free to all A' Design Award winners, digital or pro.

Design Award Languages

Did you know? Various ancient bilingual or even trilingual epigraphical documents have sometimes been described as "Rosetta Stones", as they permitted the decipherment of ancient written scripts. With A' Design Award, your very own design's description becomes a Rosetta Stone for over hundred languages.

Why Do We Translate Your Works?
If you just promote your Work in English (plus your Native language and/or in several languages), the chance is that you are missing out a very big market of design enthusiasts, press members and buyers who do not have a way of discovering you; you are missing out on reaching people all around the World who could love to buy your products, feature and publish your designs as well as to enjoy your good design work.

We want to effectively promote you in all countries, in all languages, reaching design buyers and press members in their respective native languages. Translating your work to foreign languages allows us to help your design news, award-winning products, projects and services reach design oriented audiences in all countries, in their own languages.

We have started this initiative as a result of our insatiable desire to promote your works Worldwide as well as thanks to feedbacks received by international publishers; i.e. press members who do not speak English as their native language wished to have “translated versions” of the award-winning works so that they could easily publish the award winners in their publications. Furthermore, feedbacks received through design mediation efforts also indicated a need for “multilingual project presentations” that could be further useful for award winning works to reach new markets. But most importantly, we simply wanted to create a truly global awareness for your good design.

For award-winners, our multilingual translation service is a great opportunity to penetrate global markets where competition in your field could be low or inexistent and of course to get your award-winning works published in non-English publications. Through this initiative, we aim to reach 99.995 % of the world population, in their own native language by providing translations of award-winning works in over hundred languages.

Design Languages

How Do We Translate?
Once you confirm your English texts, DesignPRWire will send them to translators and translation services. The translations are done by two methods. Firstly, whenever it is economically feasible to do so, they are outsourced to native speakers all around the world who would read, proofread and paraphrase your “Yearbook Descriptions” to their native languages. Secondly, since majority of our winners are indeed non-native English speakers, we also wanted to give an opportunity for the award winners to translate their works to their own native language or any other languages that they have a strong command of. By giving the opportunity to the winners themselves to translate their works into other languages, we are ensuring a perfect translation without any mistakes. Finally, we are also implementing translations by artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Currently, our translation platform supports 190 languages; however from this super list of languages, A' Design Awards currently aims to translate each award-winning design's yearbook descriptions and descriptive texts to 108 languages. These 108 languages cover a very significant majority of the World's languages and allows us to have a truly international platform. Within this perspective, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron award winning works, all, will be translated into an estimate of 108 languages.

Design Languages

Translation will be made by DesignPRWire and the relevant costs will be covered by A’ Design Award. We will try to ensure that each award-winning project is translated to all the languages above as indicated for award status, translations will be made once or twice a year and therefore you might need to wait for the translations to show up, and in some cases, translations might not be available for a period of time in foreign languages with less than 100 million speakers.

Please dully note that we do not guarantee any number of translations, however we hope to reach the number of translations we have highlighted in this page i.e. we aim to have at least 108 translations for Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron A’ Design Award winners.

Design Award Languages

Furthermore, award-winners themselves will be able to translate their works into 190 languages that our platform supports as explained, your translations will overwrite our translations and will be used when promoting your works in other languages. However, before we could go further with the translations, we need the help and intervention of winners. Winners are kindly asked to update their profile and especially select and indicate their “Native Language”, this is especially important for us to proceed with translations correctly. You may update your profile and edit your “Native Language” setting here.

To edit, paraphrase, proofread, improve and modify your translations please visit the user translations page. From this page, you will also be able to add translations of your design in further languages: i.e. if you speak multiple native languages, or if your company employs multiple native speakers, you might ask them to translate your project in other languages and provide us with more accurate and correct native language translations. Since you are the person who knows your project perfectly, translations supervised by you would be more likely to be correct and they will overwrite the translations that we would be sending to foreign publications. Native language translation provided by you will have priority when we would be providing your design details to press members. Therefore, if you are a native speaker of multiple languages, do please make sure to provide a translation of your works yourself in the native languages you have absolute control of.

If you are not a native speaker, it is better that you do not provide us with any further translations but simply review and confirm your English Translation which we would be using to provide translation to other languages. However, if you have access to translators or if you have native speaker friends or colleagues who could help you to translate your design descriptions, it could be better that you provide us with the foreign language translations.

Design Award Languages

Did you know? Language Icon, the icon to signify language, originated from a design contest organized by A’ Design Award & Competition. Farhat Datta designed the winning entry, “Turnstile Language Icon”, in 2011.

All the third-party translation tasks are outsourced to either real, native translators who would translate your project to their own language and/or delegated to artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, especially for exotic languages.

A’ Design Award & Competition will cover all the costs of translation for the available languages, as provided by DesignPRWire. Furthermore, for each and every language that your project is translated into, your news and award winning designs will also be published in a corresponding foreign language design publication run by the DesignPRWire; this is especially a great opportunity since this could especially help our award winners to reach non-native audiences of prospective buyers, clients, press members and of course design enthusiasts.

Summary, to have your award winning work translated to up to 108 languages free of charge and to get your designs featured in local publications speaking these languages:

  1. Edit your Profile and Choose your Native Language.
  2. Confirm, proofread, paraphrase and/or modify your “Yearbook Description” in English following our guidelines.
  3. Optionally, if you are non-native English speaker please remember to translate to your award winning works to your own native language yourself, and ask a professional translator or native-English speaker to “conceptually translate” your entries back to English from your own translation so that future translations will all be accurate and correct.

The multilingual translation and publication services offered by A' Design Award are designed to be highly beneficial for designers. Our aim with translating and publishing award-winning works into multiple languages is to significantl broaden the reach of good designs, enhancing their visibility on a global scale. A' Design Award's translation and multilingual publication service could be particularly valuable for designers looking to break into new international markets, as it allows their work to be appreciated and understood by non-English speaking design enthusiasts, buyers, and press members around the world. Furthermore, by offering the Rosetto Stone translation service and IDNN Network Coverage completely free of charge to award winners, A' Design Award aims to remove a potential financial barrier that could prevent great designers and brands from accessing such broad, international exposure.
