About & History: This is a really nice museum if you like cars, there are many vintage cars, and overall it is a great experience. You can find cars from all time periods. There is a nice museum shop and a coffee bar. There is also a 4D cinema (kids below 6 not admitted). Museum is several floors, its architecture is nice. It is usually not busy. A lot of opportunities to take some nice and cool photos with cars. Entry is not free but not expensive either. There is ample parking available. |

How to Reach: The Alfa Romeo Museum is very close to the Expo 2015 area and can be reached by several routes: from the Arese/Lainate exit from the A8/A9 Lainate-Como-Chiasso and Milan-Varese motorways to the lakes; from the A4 Turin-Milan-Venice motorway; from the western Milan ring road that continues southwards with the A1 Milan-Rome-Naples and A7 Milan-Genoa motorways. The Museum is 15 km away from the city centre of Milan and can easily be reached by public transport. Take the train or metro line M1 until the station of Rho-Fiera, then take bus line 561 Airpullman, destination Arese, which stops right in front of the Museum (the bus service is active 7 days a week. Tickets can be bought at the station of Rho-Fiera or at the ticket machine) There is also a shuttle bus linking the Milano Central Railway Station to Il Centro Arese (500m. far from the museum in only 30 minutes, daily. The shuttle bus leaves from Milano Central Railway Station: Piazza Duca d’Aosta ( MM2 MM3 Centrale FS ). Tickets are available online (5€ return ticket) If you go by car, the Museum is close to the Lainate/Arese exit on highway A8. Alternatively, it can be reached from provincial road SP 233 Varesina and state road SS 33 del Sempione. |
Nearby: Next to museum, there is a huge shopping mall called Il Centro. It is one of the biggest shopping malls in not only Milan but whole Italy. In this environment you can find more than 200 shops, 25 restaurants, a diagnostic center, a sport center and few play areas for kids. The architecture is modern and the building is spacious, the building has been designed and built following strict standards of energy saving and sustainability, in particular the roof made by Glulam: a sustainable layered wood used for the first time in a shopping center.
