Nima Bavardi, the lead designer of the winning project Cannibalumin explains “The particular shape of the annular luminaire is inspired by king snake and the phenomenon of the self-cannibalism; If these snakes get too hot, they begin to eat their own tails, creating a circle. There happens a self-cannibalism cycle between LED lamp and Si based solar cell located in the head and the tail of the luminaire.
