Juri Akiyama, the designer of the award winning work Memory says ““Memory” is primarily a reconstruction of a magazine page, made by weaving together the unevenly shredded page and its copies. Its repetitive, mutational, and uniquely painterly process makes the up-close image complementary to the overall evanescent impression. The lateral exploration of details in the grid reflects the artist’s interpretation of memory as a flat plain, in which moments coexist regardless of the time axis.
