Desislava Sredkova, the lead designer of the winning lighting design work Acorn Light System explains “Acorn is a lighting system of sustainable lamps that takes advantage of daylight. Each shade is covered with a mirror on its back side. During the day the mirrors catch sun rays and reflect them deeper into the room, enhancing the amount of daylight inside the space in a natural way. During the night they can reflect a single ceiling-mounted light source and amplify its strength for another sustainable approach or function as regular lamps. The system consists of wall-mounted, ceiling, freestanding, and table-top lamps.
