William Price, the creative mind behind the winning project Shotgun Over and Under explains “Shotgun Over and Under is located in the Lower Heights neighborhood of Downtown Houston, Texas. The site is bound by an industrial zone to the south and the first African American cemetery in the Houston city limits. The project references Houston's Shotgun Houses located in Freedman's Town in the Fourth Ward which are long narrow one-story houses with rooms placed end-to-end.
