Duval Patterson began exhibiting his artistic talent as a child, drawing and making action figures from modeling clay. After serving four years in the Marine Corps , he joined the New York City Housing Police Department. During this time, Mr. Patterson began painting and freelancing in graphic art on a part-time basis. He attended art classes at Parsons School of Design and the Art Students League. Upon retirement, Mr. Patterson freelanced full-time as a graphic artist for two years, then took a position as crime scene artist for the Legal Aid Society of New York. Now enjoying full retirement, Mr. Patterson continues his art through sketching, creating collages and occasionally entering local art shows.
